Minnesota & Chicago battle it out for Title (outside reading post#2)

Recently I read an article about The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox situation. This article was about where the Twins stand compared to the White Sox and how close they are from winning the division to go to the World series. In the last series between Minnesota and Chicago, the Twins came back to get ahead of the White Sox. Before they were behind 2 and a half games and now they're ahead 1/2 game. This article also talked about the eligable players for the best batting average, including Joe Mauer. This article also talks about the White Sox and Detroit Tigers game. The White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 8 to 2. This article also talks about the upcoming tiebreaker game and final game of the regular MLB season. Although this article was from two days ago, most of us already know the outcome of the game. A scoreless first six innings felt a little uneasy. Then in the sixth inning, Thome from the White Sox hit a homerun. So, good pitching from Minnesota wasn't enough to win the divison.

Hi Emily,

I am a grad student at the U of M and I just read your latest post about the Twins and White Sox. So I take it you are a baseball fan :) I watched the game on Tuesday and felt bad when the Twins lost. I am a former baseball player and I usually get pretty excited at the end of the baseball season, especially when the Twins are involved. What were your thoughts on the game and the Twins' performance? Are you an athlete yourself? Also, where did you read this article? Do you read sports articles often? What other types of reading do you like to do? I look forward to readnig more of your blogs in the future.

Take care,
Jeff
